Personas in Smaply are representations of typical users, helping teams understand and empathize with their target audience. They embody key characteristics, behaviors, and goals of different user groups, enabling teams to design solutions tailored to their needs.
Create personas
You can create personas in two ways:
- From the personas overview page in the dashboard: Simply click "create persona" to generate a new persona.
- Directly from within any card in a journey map: Open the card details, scroll to the persona section, and choose from existing personas or create a new one from the dropdown menu.
Persona quick editor:
Upon selection, the persona quick editor opens, allowing you to choose a name, select a color, and pick an icon for the persona.
Once created, personas appear in the personas overview page on the dashboard. When added to a card in a journey map, they are displayed as small badges attached to the card. Hovering or licking on the card expands the badge to a square, displaying the persona icon prominently.
Persona management
To manage personas, navigate to the personas overview page and click the 3-dot-menu. Here, you can edit, copy (to other workspaces), and archive personas. Archiving a persona removes it from linked cards.
