Accessibility statement

As a company acting in the field of service design, we are deeply rooted in human-centered design. At Smaply, our aim is to be as inclusive as possible and offer a good experience to anyone working with us or using our tool, no matter their background, needs, and abilities. We are fully aware we have a long way to go in front of us, but at the same time we are very eager to walk that path and learn all about it.

Product development and design

We are continuously working on improving the user experience of our product and that includes its accessibility.

We take the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) -  as a reference in regard to accessibility conformance. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Smaply is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA but we aim to improve that and go beyond by also applying Level AAA Success Criteria when possible. During this process, we will communicate improvements as they are ready.

Some of the steps we are taking to ensure accessibility and help users understand and navigate the interface are the use of descriptive texts, color contrast, and implementing keyboard shortcuts.

We are committed to implementing and improving our product in a more inclusive and accessible way. Therefore we have started a collaboration with a third party to help us work on our goal. In this regard we are looking forward to improving our language and communication style, working on keyboard navigation and shortcuts, improving color contrast and legibility issues as far as providing a robust structure for screen reader users.

Feedback and testing

We want to grow together with our community, our partners, and our users, that's why we truly appreciate any insight and feedback. Please let us know if you encounter any accessibility barriers or have ideas on how we could improve even more. Simply drop us a line at mail@smaply.com

Team and hiring culture

Our team is fully committed to working towards better accessibility, it is part of our mission. That's why we encourage training and teamwork to grow together and integrate accessibility into our practices.

As part of our collaboration with the third party, we are looking forward to going through some accessibility training in the near future.

Diversity is one of our core company values, we agreed on this point together as a team and follow it as a team. But even further, as part of the Global Compact Network, we also officially commit to a yearly report on efforts against discrimination and towards inclusive employment.

Each team member has a yearly time budget for education, which we also use to learn more about human-centered services and communication.

Supporting social and educational organizations

As a team, we actively participate in social innovation projects and social work; furthermore, we want to support social organizations that care about inclusion and therefore offer discounts for NGOs, governmental institutions, and for educational purposes.
